The followng test, develped as part of a nine-week curriculum in a whole language class for special educaiton seventh graders by Deb tock at Gardner Grade School, is still used today by several teachers. Here's the first test:

4. Name and describe the two characters who traveled with Terry in the Spirit of Liberty.
5. What is the Spirit of Liberty and what special modifications did it have?
