Book/Comic Book
Conventions and other signings
Picture
features Cathy, Anthony, & Myke Feinman.
The picture to the left was taken in Herscher, IL in 1998 on Labor Day
weekend. Back in the old days, we use to set up a table in the craft show.
It's not something we have done in a long time. Things change when you
move away from the area. We miss it sometimes and think, "Hey, we
should do it again!" But then we remember that it all depends on
the weather since it takes place outside. It's kind of a hit or miss.
We may attend again one day in the future.
Picture
features Cathy & Myke Feinman with Tim Tyler, fellow cartoonist.
When or where this picture was taken is unknown but it
was some time in between 1991 and 1998. Tim Tyler had probably just launched
his new company, Doom Theatre, when this photo was taken. Myke claims
when he was still covering Kankakee county and happened upon Tim and his
friends which led to him writing a story about them that helped him decide
to finally do his comic book graphic novel, The Mask Conspiracy.
Photo
features Pam Bliss, Anthony Feinman, and Rachel Hartman
The photo was taken at the Chicago Comic Fest in 1998.
Pam Bliss is well know through out the small press as doing what is known
in the business as "Mini Comics". One of her most famous creations
is a dog know as Sparky. Rachel produces a amusing tales about a young
girl, Amy, during the Renaissance age.
Picture
features Andy Hall, Anthony Feinman, Eric T Gradberg, & Jay E Dickerson
This picture was taken at Wiz Con 2003 in Chicago, IL. Escape in a Dirigible
had just been printed in it's prepublication form. Jay drove all the way
from Wisconsin to see this con. I'm told it a seven hour drive at least.
I think if I had to do it, I would have had TB by the end (Tired Butt).
This is the first and last appearance of the GI Joe shirts at the convention.
Andy and Eric had just recently created a website of their own that featured
a GI Joe Card game of their design. The shirts featured the address of
the website on the back. However, after word got out that they had done
this (without Hasbro's permission), they were asked to take it down. Hasbro
later did do a Gi Joe card game but it never picked up. People to this
day still claim that the duo's version was the best. My opinion is that
Hasbro should have hired the two to design it. It would have made Eric
happy since that's the field he would like to get into someday. These
were the only shirts made.
Photo features Jim Ridings, Sergio Aragones, & Myke Feinman
This picture was taken at the Chicago Comicon 1997. Sergio,
of MAD magazine and Groo fame, happens to be one of Myke's favorite cartoonists.
He was extremely happy to finally meet him, got some comic books signed
and even had Sergio do an illustration of Terry Freedom for The Crystal
Skull Files
Photo
features Zach McDivitt
This picture was taken at WizCon 2003. Zach finally got a chance to attend
a comic book convention not only for the first time but also as a published
artist. He illustrated and co-wrote the short story, Stage Fright, with
Andy Hall. It was featured as a backup story in Escape in a Dirigible.
At the time he was a student at Illinois State University studying to
be an Art Teacher. He later graduated and has recently married his sweetheart,
Liz. He and Andy Hall are preparing to do another collaboration in the
future. However, it all depends on when he and his new bride have time
to separate from each other. It probably won't be happening for quite
some time.
Photo

We wanted to get a picture of the two with the cover
to Stage Fright. However, they forgot to turn the book around and we got
the picture to Escape instead. Oh well! So much for posterity. Either
way, we here at IF Comics have had a lot of compliments on the artwork
to Stage Fright. We hope to see more of Zach's work in the future.
Photo
features Batman with fan, Schaumburg Harmony alias THE PAW
This picture was taken in 2005 at the WizCon in Chicago,
IL. In late 1999, Schaumy join the Feinman household and later became
the star of our teddy bear books, In Search of the First Teddy Bear, The
Teddy Bear Conspiracies, and soon to be released, The Wedding of Louis
and Chocolate. He and others of his "Hug" now joins us at book
signings. He himself signs his books and is always willing to meet and
give hugs to fans. We see him here dressed as THE PAW, and elusive defender
of Pawtropolis. So the next questions is: 'Who's the fan in this picture?"
Photo to the left features Myke Feinman, Schaumburg Harmony,
& Anthony Feinman
Photo to the right features Schaumy, Myke Feinman, Eric T Gradberg, and
Cathy Feinman

Both pictures taken in 2005 at two separate occasions
promoting The Teddy Bear Conspiracies. Note how bored Eric is is the right
picture. He still to this day does not get teddy bears
Could
this be the REAL TERRY FREEDOM?
Date of picture is unknown
This is a picture of Myke and fan who just happened to be
wearing flying goggles and a beret much like Terry Freedom wears in The
Crystal Skulls Files. Coincidence?
Picture
features Valerie McCann
This was taken 2006 at WizCon in Chicago, IL. Unfortunately
this year, IF Comics did not have a table but will be returning next year
with two NEW publications. Valerie will have a story featured in SUPERLATIVE
TALES entitled, The Tourist Trap. This was Val's first
visit to a comic book convention. Her main response to the experience
was that she could not believe how much stuff there was just for comics.
I am told that the convention in Chicago is nothing verses the Con that
takes place in San Diego, California. It takes up four city blocks!
